Day 1: Lemosho Gate to Big Tree Camp

After breakfast, we will drive you from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha to Lemosho Gate. This scenic drive takes about 3 hours and provides stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Upon arrival at the gate, you will complete registration formalities before starting your trek through a lush rainforest. The trail is rich with wildlife, including monkeys and exotic birds, as you make your way to Big Tree Camp.

Day 2: Big Tree Camp to Shira 2 Camp

Todayā€™s journey takes us out of the rainforest and into the moorland zone. The trail ascends gradually as you traverse the Shira Plateau. Enjoy panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the surrounding plains. This is a long but rewarding day of hiking.

Day 3: Shira 2 Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

This is an important acclimatization day as we trek to Lava Tower at 4,600 m before descending to Barranco Camp. The trail offers incredible views of the Western Breach and the Great Barranco Wall. Lunch is served at Lava Tower, and the descent allows your body to adjust to the altitude.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp

After breakfast, we begin with the challenging Barranco Wall. The climb is steep but manageable, offering some of the best photographic opportunities of the trek. We pass through the Karanga Valley before ascending to Barafu Camp. You will prepare for the summit push later tonight.

  • Overnight: Full Board at Barafu Camp.
Day 5: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak and descend to Mweka Camp

We begin the final ascent to the summit at midnight. The trail is steep and challenging, but your efforts will be rewarded with an unforgettable sunrise at Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, we descend to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved rest.

Day 6: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

On the final day, we make our way down through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your summit certificates. A vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha.
