Day 1: Prison Island, Spice Farm & Stone Town
After breakfast, begin your Zanzibar adventure with a visit to the historic Prison Island, home to giant Aldabra tortoises and crystal-clear turquoise waters ideal for swimming. Continue to a local spice farm, where you’ll experience the scents and flavors that gave Zanzibar its nickname, the “Spice Island.” Enjoy a delicious local lunch before heading to Stone Town for a guided tour through its winding alleys, bustling markets, and iconic landmarks that tell the story of Zanzibar’s rich history. In the evening, relax and enjoy the sunset at Forodhani Park, followed by a visit to the Forodhani Night Food Market, where you can taste authentic Zanzibari street foods.
Day 2: Safari Blue Experience
Today, set out on the Safari Blue Tour, one of Zanzibar’s most famous ocean adventures. Sail on a traditional dhow across the turquoise Indian Ocean, stopping to snorkel among vibrant coral reefs and colorful tropical fish. Relax and chill on a pristine sandbank, enjoying fresh tropical fruits and a delicious seafood barbecue or chicken lunch, freshly prepared by the crew. Spend the afternoon swimming in a mangrove lagoon and admiring a unique baobab tree before returning to shore.
Day 3: Jozani Forest, Rock Restaurant & Michamvi Sunset
After breakfast, head to Jozani Forest, Zanzibar’s only national park, home to the rare red colobus monkeys and lush mangrove forests. Continue your journey to Mtende Beach, one of the island’s most scenic and untouched shores, where you can enjoy the peace and natural beauty of the coastline. Visit and swim in hidden caves, then head to the world-famous Rock Restaurant, perched on a rock in the Indian Ocean, for a memorable dining experience. As evening approaches, travel to Michamvi Kae Beach to witness a spectacular sunset, followed by acrobatic performances and a bonfire, making for an unforgettable night.
Day 4: Swimming with Turtles & Sunset Cruise
Begin your final day with a visit to Nungwi, where you’ll have the chance to swim with sea turtles in a natural lagoon and learn more about these gentle creatures. Spend some time relaxing on the white sands of Kendwa Beach, known for its crystal-clear waters and laid-back atmosphere. Later, enjoy clear kayaking in the calm ocean before embarking on a romantic sunset dhow cruise, gliding along the coast as the sky turns golden over the Indian Ocean — the perfect way to end your Zanzibar island escape.
Day 5: Tumbatu Island Visit
At around 09:00am we will visit the island to see the traditional lifestyle of TUMBATU Villagers and get history of the people through a Village guide, Tumbatu in Swahili) is historic Swahili settlement located on Tumbatu Island, Kaskazini A District of Unguja North Region in Tanzania. This site is a significant archaeological site that contains a large number of collapsed coral stone structures including private houses and several mosques, the largest of which is located on the shore facing the village of Mkokotoni on Unguja. Pearce initially looked into the ruins in 1915 and wrote about the mosques, palace, and other stone homes.
Day 6: Departure
Depending on your flight schedule and departure point you will be transferred to the Zanzibar Airport to take a flight back home. If you are flying out of Dar Es Salaam or Nairobi, we will arrange a connection flight for you to catch your flight back home.
